"Did you see Snape in Mrs. Longbottom's clothes?" Ron chuckled as he thought back on the Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson earlier that day. Harry let out a laugh, "Yeah, I bet Snape has no idea what everyone is laughing about."
The two friends succumbed to a fresh batch of laughter and high-fived over Hermione's head. Hermione struggled not to laugh as she gave the boys a stern look. The three third years rounded the corner and were suddenly surrounded by their fellow students.
Hermione elbowed Ron and Harry in the ribs and pointed her finger at the sight before them.
Draco Malfoy let out a smug laugh as he, Crabbe and Goyle backed Justin Finch-Fletchy into the wall. The Hufflepuff looked downright terrified as Draco let out another taunt.
"What? Not scared, are you? I'm not surprised. You are a mud blood after all!"
Everyone froze, turning their gaze to the bullies and their victim. Justin looked as if he were about to cry.
Suddenly, out of the crowd stepped another Hufflepuff. Based on her size and books, she was only a first year. Chin length brown hair framed her petite face, and her lovely hazel eyes were surprisingly calm.
She cleared her throat and Malfoy turned to look at her. She marched up to him, dropped her books next to her, looked him in the eye, and...
...stamped her foot on the ground twice before clapping her hands.
Hermione's face broke into a smile as she promptly dropped her books and joined in, mimicking the rhythm.
Throughout the crowd, more muggle borns joined in. When the hall was finally full of 'stomp stomp clap', the girl crossed her arms and called out in a loud singing voice.
"You got mud on yo' face, you big disgrace! Kickin' your can all over the place. Singin':"
All of the muggle borns joined in, much to the magical born students' confusion, in singing the chorus.
"We will, we will rock you!"
Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle scampered off with frightened yelps as the singing grew louder. As they disappeared from view, the little Hufflepuff went up to Justin and gave him a big hug.
"They can call us mud bloods all they want. We'll still rock them!"
