Chapter 1
One morning after Joel leaves to drop Sydney off at school Amber comes into Sara's room with a blanket wrapped around her.
''Mom?'' Amber questions with a scratchy throat
Sara gasps and looks up ''oh baby what's a matter?'' Sara asks her
''feel sick where's uncle Joel?'' Amber asks her
''oh sweetie come here he just went to drop Sydney off at school then he'll be back.'' Sara tells her
''oh okay.'' Amber says and crawls into the bed with her head on Sara's lap and stomach and closes her eyes.
Sara strokes her head looking down at her.
Joel comes home a little while later.
''oh hey what's wrong with her is she okay?'' Joel asks her
''no she's really sick.'' Sara tells him stroking Amber's head
''she have a fever?'' Joel asks her
Sara feels her head ''oh yea she's warm.'' Sara tells him
''can I do anything?'' Joel asks her
Sara shrugs like what?'' Sara asks him
''go and get her some medicine or something?'' Joel asks her
''there's some in the bathroom.'' Sara tells him
''okay.'' he says and goes to get it and puts it on Sara's night table on her side of the bed
''so how is syd?'' Sara asks him
''she's good.'' Joel tells her
''that's good.'' Sara says
''yea.'' Joel says and smiles
''and how is...'' Sara says and stops herself
''Julia?'' Joel asks her
''yea.'' Sara says
''I don't know and I kind of don't care she's too bossy.'' Joel tells her
''yea but she's still my sister and yea she is.'' Sara tells him
