Marinette stared at Adrien, and he gazed back, smiling.
"9!"
She remembered all the beautiful things of this year. He remembered her laugh.
"8!"
She thought back to when he first confessed to her, of how shocked she had been when Adrien, the boy of her dreams, stood in front of her, blushing. He thought back to when she said yes and how she looked, eyes gleaming and grinning and hand clapped over her mouth to keep him from seeing her jaw drop.
"7!"
She looked back to when Adrien revealed himself to her as Chat Noir, and how happy she was to discover her most trusted partner and long time crush were one and the same. He looked back to when she, in return, transformed into Ladybug, his lady, right in front of him, smiling widely.
"6!"
She recalled the time where he took her out on their first date to an amusement park, how she had screamed so loud, she was scared his eardrums would burst. He recalled the time they rode to the top of the ferris wheel and looked down on the vast amount of twinkling lights.
"5!"
She memorized the date of the first time he said "I love you", and the way his eyes reflected his emotions so deeply, so truthfully. He memorized her face the first time she fell asleep next to him, soft breaths emitting from her gentle mouth.
"4!"
She made him a jacket, and giggled when he immediately put it on. He made her cookies, and chuckled when she bit into them, an audible crunch showing her delight.
"3!"
She retained the taste of his lips to her brain, the way it brushed against hers so gently, like a bird's feather had grazed her mouth. He retained the smell of her hair, nestled on his shoulder when they cuddled to watch TV.
"2!"
She learned by heart his favourite meal, and made it for him whenever she could. He learned by heart her favourite song, and played it on the piano whenever he found the chance.
"1!"
She hoped he would stay with her forever. He hoped this happiness would never end.
"HAPPY NEW YEARS!"
They wished for the best.
