Hey guys. First Sonic fic! Ehh... enjoy :)
Amy jumped up and down, outstretching her hand in an attempt to touch the leaves on the branch above her. Her short, pink spikes bounced with every skip, and her eyes were scrunched up in concentration.
"Come… on…" she muttered under her breath to no one in particular. Jumping one more time, she gasped as her fingers nearly brushed the branch, but sighed when gravity pulled her back down.
I guess I'm still too short…
Caught up in her thinking, Amy did not notice the soft footsteps behind her, nor the small chuckle from somewhere behind her.
"What are you doing?" came the amused voice of a black hedgehog. Amy, surprised, whirled around in shock and brought out her hammer, ready to strike the voice.
The smirking face of Shadow the Hedgehog stopped her from pummeling him with her hammer.
"O-oh, Shadow!" she giggled nervously. "It's only you."
Shadow raised an eyebrow.
"Indeed. So. What are you doing?" he asked again, stepping closer. Amy blushed and stowed her hammer away.
"Uh… nothing."
"Huh. Didn't look like 'nothing' from where I was standing," he said with a small smile. Amy blushed.
やっぱり。。。バレタか。。。
She sighed.
"I was trying to reach that tree branch," she said after a pause, pointing at the tree limb above her. Shadow looked at her curiously, tilting his head ever so slightly.
"Why?" he asked in genuine puzzlement. Amy shrugged.
"…No reason," she said after a while. "I just wanted to see if I could reach it."
Suddenly, Shadow grinned mischievously, and jumped highly, hitting the branch with his gloved hand, hard enough to make the leaves rustle loudly, but not too hard to break the limb. A shower of cold dew rained down from the branches, drenching the pink hedgehog below.
"I can!" Shadow said, his grin still on his features. Amy made a face.
"Ugh," she muttered. Shadow looked at her with annoyance.
"What's wrong?" Amy glanced at him with a look of half frustration, and half laughter.
"I'm all wet, that's what's wrong," she said, rolling her eyes, and holding her arms out, watching the water drip down from them. Shadow rolled his eyes as well.
"So go borrow Sonic's towel. He's just coming out of the pool," he said, smirking as Amy's blush returned, full force.
"Soniiiiiiic!" she squealed, and left for the pool, but not before hugging Shadow quickly and effectively getting him wet as well.
"Bye to you too, Amy."
A/N: That would be sarcasm, as she left without telling him 'bye'. Just in case y'all didn't get it ^^;
