Introduction

The audience fidgeted uncomfortably in their chairs, bored and desperately wanting this last show to end. Up on the stage in front of them was a large granite counter top, with two wooden chairs seated behind it. A poster hung on the wall behind the stage, and painted in sparkly purple letters were the words "Cooking With Hollyleaf".

A night-black she-cat padded out onto the stage. She raised her front paws and beamed at the crowd.

"Hello and welcome to Cooking With Hollyleaf!"

The crowd let out a bit of applause, exhausted and unenthusiastic.

"Oh, c'mon, I know we can do better than that!" Hollyleaf said brightly.

Someone threw a tomato.

Hollyleaf glared at the cat who had thrown it. "If you don't have anything but praise for this show, Cloudtail, then leave.

Cloudtail grumbled and left the auditorium.

"Alrighty, everyone, time to get this show on the road! Basically, there will be a special guest on this show. And you won't know who they are. They'll show us how to make a type of food, and then, I'll most likely try it! Maybe not!"

A dark gray she-cat walked up to Hollyleaf from behind a camera and whispered something in her ear. Hollyleaf gasped. "She's here! A-already?"

The gray cat nodded.

Hollyleaf sighed. "Thank you, Rain." She turned to the audience. "Apparently, our special guest is here, even though I told somebody-" Here Hollyleaf glared Rain. "-that there would be no special guest for the introduction today."

Rain shrugged.

Hollyleaf sighed again. "Our special guest today is...YELLOWFANG!"

A long-furred gray she-cat marched up onto the stage, greeted by flashing lights and a glittering disco ball. She growled as she squinted against the lights.

"What's all this stuff?" Yellowfang demanded.

"Spotlights, Yellowfang," Hollyleaf explained.

"I don't trust them," said Yellowfang suspiciously.

Hollyleaf sighed. "Just tell the audience what you're going to show everyone how to make today!"

Yellowfang growled and held up what looked like an innocent cheeseburger.

"Deathberry Burger," Yellowfang grunted. "They taste bad and are bad for you. Whoever would like to taste test them, please raise your paw!"

Nobody did.

"Wonderful, Yellowfang!" said Hollyleaf. "How do you make them?"

Yellowfang pulled out a small slip of paper. She read off of it.

"Ingredients: Water, salt, 478,234,012 deathberries, the juice of 789,234 deathberries, moldy cheese, and 3 month old bread. Mix the deathberries, deathberry juice, water, and salt together, then slap onto cheese. Put that between the stale, dry bread."

Hollyleaf gathered the ingredients and did as the instructions said. The deathberry juice spilled, but only a bit. Yellowfang kept hissing at her whenever she messed something up. Eventually she just took over, with Hollyleaf watching in silence.

"Lovely, Yellowfang!" meowed Hollyleaf.

Yellowfang grunted, "I used it on Brokenstar."

"Wonderful...?" Hollyleaf paused. "Would anyone like to try it?"

Silence. Except for the sound of crickets chirping.

Hollyleaf turned to face the audience. "And that concludes the first episode of Cooking With Hollyleaf!"
