It could feel the emptiness starting to crush it. The loneliness, the sad feeling of being abandoned. It could feel the house being stolen, being destroyed, being deleted. The world seemed to spiral away, its master gone, its home empty. No one to greet or to trade with. No message to repeat, no master to serve. No life to live. It felt so empty, So it sat, unmoving. There was no longer a need to, or even a want to. It felt like it could stare infinitely at the ground in this timeless state of motionlessness. Then someone approached it. It suddenly felt hope flow through it, and it jolted alive. It heard itself creak as it danced and wondered how long it had been since it had last had meaning. But as it looked up it realized, this person lived next door. Not a new master. There wasn't even a message to repeat. It croaked, "This house, sadly, is empty." And slowed, stopped dancing. The words said aloud seemed to crush its empty spirit even more, and it tried to focus on going back into its empty timeless state.
