In the deep expanse of space approximately 2 lightyears from Earth a lone pod travels through the stars, its destination: Earth. Inside the pod was a skinny looking figure
adjusting the nav-charts, it's face was concealed by an all-black mask it wore light gray armor and on the center was a black shaped stone that unmistakably made it a
member of the Gem race. The Gem opened its mission dossier for the umpteenth time and re-read its contents: "Onyx, your mission is to eliminate the rebel group known as the Crystal Gems, you have been authorized to use excessive force if needed, failure is NOT an option, keep in mind the planet is too far away for our tracking software to find you so you are on your own. This is Commander Blood Diamond head of Empire Security and Military signing off." Onyx gathered his equipment which included a sword hilt
that could form a katana blade from ambient matter in oxygen, a pair of custom made pistols that can fire bolts of superheated plasma, and a personal cloaking device that can
camouflage for up to 5 minutes.
As the ship prepared to enter Earth's atmosphere there was a loud boom as one of the engines suddenly exploded, with a mad scramble Onyx disengaged the auto-pilot and
tried to pull up on the steering lever in an attempt to crash land. The ship was in a complete tailspin and crashed in a rocky cove, the impact sent Onyx flying through the
viewscreen and onto the cove hitting various rocks along the way until with a sickening crunch he hit a rather large rock which cracked his Gem and knockedhim out completely.
And that is chapter 1 of Onyx I hope you enjoyed it, please read and review and if possible leave constructive criticism because I would like to improve this story as it goes on. Also a good visual reference for Onyx would be Zer0 from Borderlands 2
