Jabberjay
The jabberjay does many things,
It flies, it pecks, it even sings.
Like fellow species of bird,
I can even take to wing.
…
But the jabberjay can also speak,
Secrets spill out from its beak.
Tells stories of what it's heard,
The rebels' plans to foes are leaked.
…
Some rebels' tongues impart falsehoods,
Lies uttered through Penam's woods.
They can fool these craven birds,
But win this war, they never could.
…
So all of Penam is afire,
The rebels know Peacekeepers' ire.
Sounds of war all over heard,
Soon peace is what all desire.
…
So the jabberjays are left to roam,
And in the forests, fly alone.
Most birds, these creatures do forsake,
Their voices carry bitter tone.
…
But then one meets a mockingbird,
The start of something quite absurd.
These two creatures copulate,
And now, more pleasant songs are heard.
