JaneRizzoli: Maura! Could you wait until I'm at least finished with my coffee?

One shot! Enjoy

As usual, the character's aren't mine. I'm just borrowing them.

Jane stumbled her way into Maura's kitchen and turned on the coffee pot. With half-opened eyes, she struggled to move around the obstacles on the way to the bathroom. One tortoise… one set of doggie dishes… one island… one trashcan… one sleeping dog… one side table… one closed door.

Maura was in the bathroom.

Jane grunted and retraced her steps to stumble into the guest bathroom.

Twenty minutes later, and much cleaner, the still half asleep detective strolled into the kitchen to grab her first cup of coffee for the morning.

"Good morning, Jane," Maura beamed as she handed the brunette a mug.

Jane responded with some incoherent mutterings.

"Did you sleep well?" Maura leaned against her counter and watched Jane over the rim of her coffee mug.

Jane took a large swallow of coffee, closed her eyes, and sighed. "What sleep I got was great." She stared down into the mug.

"Any plans for today?" Maura set her mug down on the countertop and advanced on an oblivious Jane.

Jane grunted. "No." She took another sip of coffee.

"Perhaps I could supply you with some suggestions?" Maura stopped just a few inches in front of Jane and placed her hands on the other woman's hips. "Would you be interested?"

Jane grunted and shrugged. She raised the mug to take another drink, but Maura caught her hand mid-motion and took the mug away placing it on the counter behind them.

"Jane?" Maura leaned it, pressing up against the athletic woman in front of her, "Wouldn't you like to hear what I have in mind?" She leaned in and kissed the long neck in front of her as her hands started to roam over the brunette.

"Maura! Could you wait until I'm at least finished with my coffee?" Jane squeaked out as she sidestepped the blonde.

"I… I'm sorry, Jane. I didn't mean to," Maura sniffed and turned away from Jane's irritated gaze.

Rapidly waking up, Jane become conscious of what Maura was trying to do and the huge mistake Jane had just made.

"I didn't mean it like that," Jane reached for the blonde's shoulder and spun the smaller woman around. "I was just half asleep, that's all." She pulled Maura to her. "Hey, you know I always want to know about any suggestions you have." She smiled and gently kissed the other woman. "I mean, look what I would have missed out on last night if I hadn't been listening to your suggestions."

Maura blushed ever so slightly. "I'm glad you enjoyed that."

"Babe, how could I not?" Jane hugged Maura tightly. "I'm sorry I'm such a grouch in the morning."

"It's okay, Jane. I forgive you." Maura pulled back and gave Jane another bright smile. "Are you still interested in my suggestions?"

Jane chuckled. "Sure, but, would you hold it against me if I finished my coffee?"

Maura rolled her eyes. "No, I'll be in the bedroom when you're done." Maura pulled away and sauntered toward the other room.

Jane watched for a second before following. She sprinted over the obstacles in her way…One tortoise… one set of doggie dishes… one island… one trashcan… one playful dog… one side table… She pulled open the closed door and stepped inside. She had something more important to focus on than the coffee… one Maura.
