Hello people. I just had a little idea in my head for a while so I decided to write it. I guess this'll be my first one-shot!

Kagome sat by the fire on the campground. Kikyo's demise was a little while back (episode 124, or was it 125?) and even though Inuyasha and her made up, she could always see the distant look in his eyes..

She looked around camp. Sango and Miroku were sleeping next to eachother (not that way you hentais!). She smiled at the spark of envy she had for the new couple. It was evident that they loved eachother now and that they would start their own family soon. She envied Sango and Miroku's love. Though she felt happy for Sango. At least Miroku wasn't after her incarnation that thought they betrayed eachother and ended up sealed to a tree. How ironic Kagome's life was ne?

She looked over to Shippo and Kirara. How they looked cute together. Shippo was a growing boy who was braver everyday and Kirara was well Kirara. She looked around for one more person that she couldn't find. Sadly no trace. He was probably off into the woods as he normally would have been. Nowadays he would slice up meaningless things in the serene forest. She knew the reason why. It was because he was still mourning over Kikyo's loss. Though Kagome had to admit, it must be too stressful to keep looking for the shards and to know that the final battle was coming. Plus to the fact that he lost someone he deeply cared for.

Kagome thought back to when they had their first kiss. It felt so right and happy. Back with Kaguya's fight. One moment in bliss was enough for Kagome, though she hoped it was for her and not for Kikyo.

Then she thought back to the time right after they defeated Kaguya. When Miroku tried to kiss Sango and she screamed and turned red. Kagome snickered it was pretty funny something to tease Sango about in later times. Then Miroku spoke about that She and Inuyasha had kissed and that made them turn red, but Inuyasha's next words broke her.

"Well, it wasn't like I liked it or anything."

Sure he didn't mean it, but it hell didn't mean that it didn't hurt. It stung badly. It was imprinted into her memory and deep into her heart. Kagome's breathing became a bit shallow and she clutched one hand to her heart and one hand into the ground digging her nails into the soil and grass.

It hurt to even think about him now.

If she were to think about him in the littlest way, she would still have a small tremor. She lost the happy feeling into her eyes and smile. Surely everyone noticed, including Inuyasha. She felt to numb to anything. So numb inside.. Maybe she should start being like Sesshoumaru? Besides he was al devoid of emotion. No, she could never be like that when she had a loving and forgiving heart.

She shook her head to get rid of her thoughts. She started looking to the positive side, and smiled Sadly. Slowly she made way back to her futon and thought of the mysterious boy that stole her heart. He would be there one day, she hoped. Everything will be good in the end. She'd hope and pray that he'll return her feelings. It was the only thing she could do in the mean time.

In time she tell her feelings, but for now she knew this.

She loved that Hanyou with all her heart and till that heart of hers still lives, she will never stop for anyone and or anything that comes in her way for him.
