It was silent, the middle of the night and Finnick couldn't sleep. He looked at the girl laying at his side. She was peaceful for once. No nightmares, no sleepless night, silent tears streaming down her face. Everything was okay for the moment, even if they were in District 13, away from the ocean. They were together and that's all Finnick wanted. Softly taping her shoulder, Finnick woke Annie.
"Annie, how would you like to get married?"
Pulling the covers up she softly mumbled words of agreement. Finnick took that as a yes, and layed back down. Leaning over he kissed Annie goodnight and closed his eyes. He was lucky, not many people have a girl who love them this much.
Sure he had plenty of "lovers," if you could call them that. But only one girl had his heart. It wasn't fake love, or a one sided either. It had taken time to get Annie to open up to him. Walks around town, boating together and even tying knots to calm themselves when the visions came. They trusted each other. Being in the games changes you like only another victor can understand.
He pulled his cover over his head and smiled. He and Annie were going to be married, even if he has to ask again, because laying next to her was perfect, and he meant it.
Annie was his ocean, a fluid change that he respected and loved, nothing could change that, not even a capitol girl.
With that finally thought he fell asleep, a smile on his face, He couldn't wait for the morning.
