Welcome to My Nightmare
Sun shatters our defenses leaving us to hide,
The unearthly warmth we are greedily denied.
Black envelopes us as children of the night,
Treading the sea of shadows for our next bite.
Trapped in the dark box of nightly despair
Welcome to my eternal nightmare
Gothic beings roaming in every glance,
Luring victims into a wondrous trance.
Whispering deathly nothings to the prey,
We're greatest predator to your dismay.
What's to come you are completely unaware,
Welcome to my eternal nightmare.
Our meaningless time knows no end,
Invitations of the night we will always attend.
Walking the dying earth forevermore,
Until black overcomes life's cascading war.
Suffering sweet hungers beyond any compare,
Welcome to my eternal nightmare.
Immortal life isn't what entirely it's said to be,
Any creature of the night would be quick to agree.
Trapped, sick, and impossibly dying,
These charcoal eyes misty from crying,
Because I'm stuck in this black life that argues unfair,
I can never escape this eternal nightmare.
