This was a spur of the moment type of fanfiction, but I do like this couple.
I got the idea from Reyna not being able to truly love a demigod because of Jason. She deserves a happy ending.
Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own the Percy Jackson and the Olympians or Heroes of Olympus series.
Reyna sighed. It was Valentine's Day, and she was alone. Under normal circumstance, this wouldn't have bothered her, but normal was when she had Jason. She understood why Juno did what had to be done. Allies and unities were an essential part of winning a war, but it still hurt that the son of Jupiter picked a daughter of Aphrodite over her.
Walking down the streets of New Rome nearly made her sick. Lovers were holding hands, kissing, and… well… doing rather inappropriate public displays of affection around every corner. It seemed that she was the only person unattached.
She didn't know that a certain Olympian was watching her.
Apollo sighed as he gazed at his fair maiden from afar. She was especially beautiful today, with the sun highlighting her black hair and pale skin. She walked down the streets of New Rome proudly and gracefully like a queen. Her charcoal eyes held a spark hiding the fire just underneath her skin. No other could ever even begin to compare in his eyes.
The sun god's mind drifted back to a certain topic: marriage. It had been on his mind a lot lately. Dionysus and Eros understood that he needed time alone to think about it (having married mortals themselves), and kept the other gods from bothering him.
Matrimony couldn't be taken lightly. A god was incapable of divorcing his spouse, otherwise it would happen every decade or so. He had to be sure he was ready for that kind of commitment.
The daughter of Bellona sat in her office preparing paperwork for the next day. After all, spending all of your time sulking on the day of Cupid's birth was pathetic and unbecoming of a praetor.
Suddenly, a blonde haired man appeared in front of her. It only took one glance at his sky blue eyes and shining smile to know that he was the god Apollo. She got out of her seat and bowed.
"Lord Apollo," she greeted, rising. "To what do I owe this honor?" The god began to fidget, but the demigod didn't say anything about it. No doubt that there was an important matter on his mind.
"Praetor Reyna, I've been thinking… well a lot, and this might seem sudden to you, but gods, see, we live forever, and waiting for us is different, um, shorter, than it is for you all, and..." he began. He took a deep breath and knelt. Seeing the girl blush, he continued, "Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano, will you join me in immortal bliss and become my wife?"
Tears clogged Reyna's throat. The man in front of her was almost a stranger to her. He was attractive (and dare she say it, buff), but did she really want to marry someone she didn't know? Taking a breath herself, she decided on what to do.
Exactly one year later, the goddess known as Reyna smiled at the memory as she waited for her husband to return home from driving the sun across the sky.
FIN
Yeah, short, but oh well. I really couldn't think of anything else to add.
Happy Valentine's Day!
