Nightmares again. I'm scared, fighting off these monsters, knowing deep down they're my friends. I hate the fear, and I hate the knowledge that it's not real. Forcing myself to wake up, I clench my fists so hard, my nails cut into my palms. The pain is relieving and soothing, and I calmly stand up and take my pills.
Koenma rings my compact-phone, and I answer with a smile, but he sees through it. "Nightmares again?" I nod, and he sighs. "Well, the pills should kick in soon. You did take the pills, yes?" He nods at the orange bottle that he'd procured for me. The pills were indeed beginning to set in.
"So, Koenma-san, why'd you call at this time? It's only—" she looked at the clock. "Oh, it's noon." The curtains hadn't let any light in, so now she tugged them aside to see the light. It almost made her cry. Even with the antidepressants in her veins.
"Are you all right?"
There's only one answer, and I deliver it with pride. "Jolly good!"
