Haruka sighed as she opened the door to find yet again another mess. sighing she decided to ignore it, for she knew that if she spoke any of her thoughts that it would make her life more miserable than it was. As she cleaned, trying to get all the shredded newspaper off of the carpet before Michiru or Setsuna came home. However as soon as she began a little black ball of fuzz ran through the house, carrying one of her dress shoes, that had partially been destroyed.

"Give me that you stupid mutt! Why the heck did I let that brat convince me to let her keep you!" the blond exclaimed, unaware that standing in the doorway was Setsuna, who had an amused smirk on her face.

"What's wrong Tenou? Intimidated by a dog?" she stated teasingly, causing Haruka to jump almost out of her skin as she whirled around to face the older senshi.

"No I just wish the stupid beast would run away or something!" Haruka grumbled as she jerked her destroyed shoe from the dogs mouth. Setsuna only laughed at this and began to help pick up the room.

As she worked Haruka couldn't help but think back on the day that she agreed to allow her adoptive daughter to keep the blasted thing.

It had been a day in middle of the winter and Hotaru had been outside trying to build a miniature snowman when the little furball had ran through the thick snow in their yard and knocked the little girl onto the ground before licking her repeatedly in the face. Needless to say the eight year old girl ran into the house, with the tiny beast close behind her.

"Haruka Papa! Haruka papa! Can I keep him?" She asked, giving her father figure a pleading look similar to that of a basset hound. Haruka however just turned her attention back to the tv screen, knowing that if she saw that look that she would give into her daughters wishes.

"Please Papa? I promise that I will take care of it!" the little girl tried again and Haruka sighed and stood up and picked up the little dog, who seemed to go limp in her hand.

"No Hime-Chan, a dog is too big of a challenge for a kid and I don't think any of us want a mess in this house due to a hyperactive animal!" the blond replied as she walked outside and into the garage, sitting the dog the dog down on the concrete floor.

"its not all that comfortable but it is warm." Haruka muttered to the animal as she walked out. As soon as she entered the house again she saw Hotaru crying in the arms of Michiru.

"Haruka...I think we need to talk." the aqua haired goddess stated as she turned her attention back to her daughter.

Haruka sighed as she sat down beside her wife and daughter and sighed.

"Michiru, I am not letting her keep that dog!" the blond wind senshi began however a look from Michiru caused her to stop.

"Haruka, don't you think that maybe it would be a good experience for her?" the sea senshi began in a firm tone and Haruka sighed as she pinched the bridge of her nose.

"okay okay fine! That thing can stay but the first time that it destroys anything it is gone!" she growled as she walked into another room.

With a laugh Haruka looked over the messy room again and shook her head before she turned toward Setsuna and said "how many times does this make?"

With a small smile Setsuna replied softly "twenty...next time I'd make her clean it up."

Haruka only shook her head as she finished up as she replied "I'd rather she didn't have the dog in the house, if she wants to keep the little beast but it better stay outside or in the garage."

However neither of them realized that Michiru and Hotaru were standing in the doorway, overhearing everything that had just been said.
