Shakespeare

She's an actress and he's the Lord of Lies, and pretending is the only thing they have in common. It's how they get through the divorces: playing the same role (Completely Okay) in the same play (The Story of My Life) on different stages worlds apart.

And then there's the marriage and their worlds collide like trains and nothing stays quite right. They have to share the same stage, and their new parts are so screwed up that it might as well be Shakespeare. They're fight like Beatrice and Benedick or Katerina and Petruchio, but that can't be right because don't they get happy endings? They're more like Antony and Cleopatra or Hamlet and Ophelia—destined to drive each other insane.

But that's not right either because they're in love, and God knows that won't happen to them—right?

I've been revising this for months, and I'm still not satisfied with it. But I decided I needed to let this one go; it's not getting any better. I hope that reading it wasn't a waste of your time. :)
