Fan fiction- What would have happened if James and Lily didn't get killed?
Chapter 1- Off to Hogwarts
'Oh my little boy is all grown up and going to Hogwarts!' cried Lily Potter as she hugged her only son, Harry, round the neck.
'Yes mum I know but as I have told you so many times I'm…'
'Not little anymore,' I know honey but you will always be my little boy.' Then there was a loud thud as James Potter came down the stairs of Godric's Hollow with Harry's school trunk. 'If you're not 'little' any more then why can't you carry your own trunk down the stairs?' Harry didn't reply but ran up the stairs past his dad to get his new pet owl, Hedwig.
'Harry, James we'd better get going we're already running late!'
Before Harry knew it he was getting out of the car at Kings Cross station. As they walked towards platforms 9 and 10 there seemed to be a hold up. A red headed family where taking their time going through the barrier. At the very back of the family was a young boy who looked about Harry's age. 'Hi,' said Harry as he came up behind him. 'Is this your family?'
'Yep,' replied the boy. 'Over there are my twin brothers Fred and George, they're real jokers but everyone loves them. The one next to my dad wearing the prefect badge is Percy and the one holding mums hand is my little sister Ginny.'
'Wow you have a big family!'
'Oh I forgot to say I have 2 other brothers called Bill and Charlie but they have left Hogwarts,'
'Well I'm Harry Potter and I'm an only child, nice to meet you…'
'Ron Weasly'
Harry and Ron ran through the barrier together and on to platform 9. 'Bye mum, bye dad' cried Harry as he boarded the Hogwarts Express with Ron. 'Bye Harry,' said Lily tearfully as the train started to roll out the station. And just faintly Harry heard his dad shout 'Be good,' and then they were gone. Ron and Harry walked down the train to find an empty compartment, eventually they entered one with only a small girl sitting in the corner. The girl looked up as they sat down. She was already in her robes and seemed to be reading one of her textbooks. 'Err hi,' said Harry quietly 'Can we join you?'
'Yes you can, I'm Hermione Granger, who are you?' The girl had a bossy sort of voice, Harry wasn't sure if he liked her. 'I'm Ron Weasly and this is Harry Potter,' said Ron before Harry could reply. For a long time everyone was quiet. Harry was looking at the country side, Ron was playing with his pet rat and Hermione read through her textbooks and every so often muttered spells to herself. Then Hermione broke the silence and said 'You two better change into your robes, I expect we'll be arriving soon,' then she looked at Harry and then Ron before leaving the compartment. Harry and Ron both put their robes on and then through the window Harry saw the magnificent sight of Hogwarts.
