"Please accept this." murmured the long brown haired girl to Jamie Chadwick. He stood there in awe, and stared at the small wrapped candy box she held out. He smiled kindly and took the box of candy. "Thank you." he said, and watched as she walked away, and then rushed up to her friends, giggling.
The box of chocolates ended up in his locker; much like the other twenty he had received that morning. By lunch, Jamie had obtained many more, and they all ended up the same. "Man Jamie. You're getting all of the chocolates. Can't you let us have some of the girls on Valentines Day?" asked Jamie's good friend, Erron.
Jamie grinned as his other two friends, Alex and Roric sat down. Alex, Erron and Jamie were all born in England while Roric came from Scotland, but that didn't really matter to the four.
"What are you guys talking about?" Roric asked, taking a bite of his macaroni casserole. "We're talking about how it's our sophomore year here in the high school section, and we haven't gotten half as many chocolates as Jamie." Alex complained, finishing his food quickly.
Roric chuckled and glanced at Erron who nodded in agreement. "As your dorm mate, I believe you should split all of the chocolates with me!" he announced, suddenly standing and pointing in Jamie's face.
"Dude, it's not his fault that for two and a half years you've been too chicken to ask a girl out." Roric said calmly, as Jamie just smiled at his silly friends.
As Jamie's class finally filed out of the cafeteria, he dodged the underclassmen scurring to class, he opened the door and stepped past the sign which had the name of his school: Stanborough Secondary School. Then he slumped in front of his favorite tree, and stared out at the large open spaces of the campus.
