Disclaimer: I no owns Tsuki no Shippo. In fact, I'd be the last person to own it. I suck at drawing.

Note: This is probably really incongruous, because I was barely thinking when I wrote this. If it is in fact really incongruous... please ignore it and enjoy the cavity-spawning fluff anyway.

Love Between Enemies

20FacesChizu

They were so very, very careful. They had to be.

They were enemies, even if they were lovers.

"Sara…"

She bit her lip as Hanzou stroked a finger down the scar he himself had left, the thin crescent moon that appeared upon her back. The scar of the moon that had marked her, and kept her from becoming another prostitute of the Red Light District. The mark that made her life gentle and sweet for six wonderful months as the civilian girl Kaguya. Heat ignited inside of her, racing over the edges of her bones, following her chills of goose-flesh back to their source at his fingers, like fire burning over a trail of gunpowder. He whispered her name into her ear, and it made her ache.

"Hanzou-sama…" He let out a breathy chuckle as his lips moved from hers to her jaw line, and further down to her throat.

"Six months is too long, Sara. Much, much too long." She smiled, tears prickling at the corners of her eyes. She would've voiced an agreement, but the Oda princess couldn't seem to find the words to say.

More than that… they weren't really needed.

Here in this inn, which had few guests this time of year, they were safe for a while, to simply revel in each other's love. They had practically fallen through the door in a mess of kisses and clothes. She'd felt her body go almost numb with heat when she first saw him, and from what she'd seen, he had been the same way. Here in the afterglow, their skin pressed together, she felt as if it would be impossible to feel any more in love than she did now. The man who looked up to her, sea-colored eyes framed by sparkling golden hair, was the man she would give her life for.

She was determined. She would not die before or after him, but at his side.

When Sara looked down to his face again, she was surprised to find that Hanzou had already fallen asleep, his nose pressed lightly against her neck. His right arm rested behind her shoulders, and his left was draped across her waist in an intimate fashion that she had far grown used to. If he were awakened in the night by even the slightest hint of evil intent, he would be able to grab her and dash away in a split second. Likewise, if anything distressed her, he would know by her scent.

Protective. Attentive.

Sara settled her head on top of his, and fell into sleep.

AN: When I was at college for those five months, it was hell. So I needed some mind-numbing fluff to make me happy, and this helped. T_T I'm going to tell you now, this isn't up to my usual standards. But here you go anyway. First fic for Tsuki no Shippo, so if the characterization sucks, just know that the first time I write someone that's usually how it goes. Hope you like anyway!
