Alternative Revolution...

This starts from the point in Revolutions where Trinity dies...

With Trinity lying dead on the floor, Neo could do nothing but cry for his loss. He loved her and could never imagine his life without her. He felt lonely already. His few tears that were forced through his burnt shut eyes landed softly on Trinity's still face. Neo sat for a while in deep thought.
Unbelievably Trinity awoke, 'Neo,' she whispered keeping her eyes tightly shut in fear he wasn't there. For a minute or so there was no sound. Nothing. Everything was silent and perfectly still, until...
'Trin, is that you?' He said softly afraid to look.
'Yes,' she whispered, 'or at least I think so.'
Neo turned quickly and to his delight trinity lay there awake, alive it was unbelievable. He rushed to her and helped her remove the thick wires and tubes that were jammed in her body. Neo slowly lifted her and moved her to somewhere that she would be more comfortable. He lay her down gently and tried to bandage up her wounds with pieces of fabric that he ripped off his jumper.
'Trin what happened? How are you here? I thought you were dead. I thought I would ever see you again... I was scared.'
'So was I,' said Trinity with a slight tremble in her voice, 'but I'm not now.'
'Trin, what did you see?' Neo asked curiously, 'what happened?'
'I don't know... I've never seen any thing like it before.' She said thoughtfully, 'I remember a beautiful, bright light shining and then I felt something like tears falling down my face but I wasn't crying, then I woke and I still can't believe it. I'm back. I'm back with you.'
Neo , still confused about what had happened, couldn't help wondering how or why Trinity was still alive, but the only thing he thought after that was that he was glad she as back and not still lying dead on the cold floor. Neo had to take another moment to think.
'What is it Neo?' Trinity asked staring up at his puzzled face.
'It's this place,' Neo replied, 'I know why I'm here but I don't know what I have to do.'
'Don't worry, just go out there and do what you know you have to do,' Trinity advised him, she knew that if she had enough confidence in her voice he would do what she said. Neo headed out of the ship with his doubts, but he trusted Trinity to be right, he believed in her like she did in him.
'Just promise me one thing,' Neo said as he left the ship.
'What is it Neo?' Trinity asked.
'You'll stay in here, in the ship.'
'But why?' She asked.
'Because in here I know you'll be safe.' And with that he had disappeared.
Neo stepped onto a long, dark and cold platform, he knew what he had to do he just had to find the machine he was looking for.
'Can I help you sir?' a small but high pitched voice came from behind him. Slowly Neo turned only to find something that looked like a human, but one thing Neo had learnt in his time with Morpheus, was that looks can be deceiving.
'Who or what are you?' Neo asked, expecting the answer to be that it was a machine, a programme.
'I know exactly what your thinking,' it said 'but you are wrong, I am not a machine or a programme, I am rather the opposite. I am like you,'
'What do you mean like me?' Neo asked with a sense of disbelief, 'you couldn't be, it would be impossible...'
'Oh but I am, I am human just like you, just your average flesh and bones. Well maybe not so average.' Neo stood and stared in wonder he had a lot of questions he wanted to be answered. What did he mean by 'maybe not so average'? How could he live in the machine city? Why was he there? Neo knew that the only way to find out the answers was to ask the questions.
