Fire was a thriller.
It hurt the soul inside, but fueled the spirit outside.
Tonight fire made them both goners. Fire: inside and outside. Chaos around them spread through their veins.
"We're going to die aren't we?"
"Yes."
The reply was short, tacit, painful, but true. His words were not sugar dipped and made to sweeten their situation. It was hurtful and rightfully reflected the hell laced in their path. Wolves. Not one wolf or two wolves, but thirty. Thirty wolves were coming their way. There was no escape.
Thus, a ring of fire was enlightened around them. A ring of a savior (who blatantly ignored their prayers).
The fire came in a wave and swallowed the land and wolves around them. Force quietly brought the two to an end on the high tipped parabola.
"We're on the edge. We're not going to be able to escape."
"We never could."
But in a moment, as those words were said, there was an escape. The quick tremble of a flash between their eyes melded together: a metaphorical simile in a live action thriller. In simple terms, it was nothing more than a small smile shared between the two.
Rash, rugged, and hard, each breathe came out hoarse. Their mouths engulfed onto one another's and a forceful vow was made. I love you. I need you.
The fire could be damned, because-
"I'm on the edge with you."
They mutually glance upon each other and it ends with a shared smile, on the edge of glory.
"And there's no reason why you and me should be alone tonight."
A/n: I've had this song stuck in my head for days. I had to do SOMETHING with it (& because all of lady gaga's songs happen to make great fanfic plot bunnies :))
