This is a year after Hitler's birthday in the chapter Hitler's Birthday 1940.
Hitler's Birthday 1941
Today was the fire, book stealing would be an event for one girl… Liesel Meminger. It was Hitler's birthday, there would be many events to celebrate. Yes, there would be many events, the same events as last year, all the same events that includes stealing a book. It was that morning that Liesel woke to a cool spring day when Rosa screamed "Wake up Liesel!" "Yes mama." Liesel replied. As Liesel got ready for the celebration there was one thing she was hoping about, she hoped there would be another book to take home. Just like last year, yes just like last year but she doesn't know if everything will be like last year and that makes her happy, and worried. She decided to read for a while to pass the time because there was a while still until they had to go. After Liesel got ready she went to the kitchen to find that her mama and papa were already ready to go. "Liesel it's time to go." said papa. So they went to the celebration of Hitler's birthday.
The first thing Liesel tried to do was find Rudy, but she had to go and march with the rest of the Hitler Youth. After they marched the fire was lit and the first thing Liesel spotted being burn was a book, but the book was not on fire so she stepped closer to it, and closer and closer. Finally she grabbed the book and hid it in her coat. Then Rudy walked up. "Did you just… no never mind." Rudy said. "That was close." Liesel thought. The good thing about this book was it was not hot like the one Liesel took last year so she could hold it until she went home. The problem was there was still a long time until they had to go home, but she did hold on to it the whole time. It was a good celebration but it was good and bad for Liesel.
Someone did spot Liesel but this time it wasn't just Ilsa Hermann that saw her take the book this time, Max Vandenburg did too. Now I know what you're thinking, how did Max not get caught? Well, he dressed up so he looked German so he would not get taken away by the Nazi's. He only just saw Liesel steal the book then he ran back to 33 Himmel Street.
After Max ran back to 33 Himmel Street, Hitler started to make his speech and Rudy was getting yelled at by the person in charge of Rudy's Hitler Youth group. Liesel runs up to the person that was yelling at Rudy during the speech and screamed "What in the freaking world are you, the biggest jerk in charge of the Hitler Youth group are you yelling at Rudy for!" "Liesel what are you doing?" Rudy said. "What did you just say to me because I hope it was not what I think I just heard." said the leader of the Youth group. "I think you know what I just said." "Liesel you're going to get in trouble stop." said Rudy. "Shut up you, you know I really don't know what you are! Now let me speak!" screamed Liesel. "Both of you go to your parents now!" said the person that was yelling at Rudy. "You're not the boss of me!" yelled Liesel. "Come on Rudy let's go."
"Blah blah blah me blah blah Germany." Hitler's speech was going on forever. "Blah blah blah me and you blah but mostly me blah blah." Hitler's speech sounded like well blah! Liesel and Rudy were in the front row with their parents and they said "Rudy that was awesome I really got that guy speechless!" "I know that but you could have gotten us in trouble." "So how about a kiss saumuch?" Then Rudy and Liesel kissed in front of Hitler, their parents, and a large group of people.
"What was that!" screams Rosa. "We kissed momma a durr!" said Liesel. While Rudy is standing there smiling like a idiot in a daze. "Wow!" said Rudy.
