My first one-shot, with two of my favorite characters from the game.
Yeta's POV
I love sledding. I love the feeling of flying through the air when I jump, of the wind whooshing past me when I speed down a hill, my wonderful husband right behind.
I always win the races we have. I think it's because he uses an icicle as a sled, while I am my own sled. It could also be because he never uses "the shortcut", and I always do.
We've had some interesting times sledding. There was the time when I was jumping, and landed on him, there was the time he tripped and turned into a giant snowball rolling down the hill at full speed. I think the most interesting times we had were when that green Hylian was with us, Link. He would always beat my husband at sledding, but never beat me until one day about a month after we met. Although, that Hylian was odd.
Once after he had won, Yeto and I were standing in front of our house, when I heard a scuffle behind me. I turned just in time to see a creature come out of his shadow, and turn him into the wolf. I think it was an imp of some sort. Anyway, the imp teleported them away, and not one minute later I saw him as a Hylian again at the top of the mountain! Strange.
Yeto and I are an interesting couple. We met right here in Snowpeak, in fact, right here at the top of the peak. He was about to eat a rookfish, but I was hungry and challenged him to a sledding race. I won, but I split the fish with him because he was such a good sport. Among yetis, this is a sign of friendship, and we became friends. Soon we fell in love, and now we are married and living here in our mansion. That Hylian just cleared it of monsters, so we can go upstairs again. I kind of feel sorry for him, I shouldn't have attacked him. I don't know what came over me. But then he did tell me later that the mirror was shattered...
Oh look, there's Yeto now, with that adventurous look. I guess it's time for sledding!
We both stood at the top of the peak, looking down. I felt an adrenaline rush as I looked, and got ready to start as Yeto knocked an icicle off the tree and got on. I stood right beside him, waiting. And then we were off.
I sped down the slope, him close behind. I grinned, and let out a yell of exhilaration as I jumped over one of the gaps. I landed, and heard a slight thud behind me a few seconds later as Yeto landed. We kept going.
We continued going down the slope, going over the bridge and jumping onto the rocks over the forest. Then I landed and, avoiding an icicle, got onto the spot that would lead me to the shortcut.
Then I was soaring through the air. I felt a slight jolt as I landed on the ledge, and then pushed off again as I started to zoom over the small ledges. I had to be careful not to fall, it was a long way down.
I landed on the mountain again, rushed down the slope and through the narrow canyon. I got out of the way just as Yeto finished right behind me.
"Good job, you almost made it that time." I said.
He gave me a large grin, "You too."
We went inside our home just as the sun began to set, marking the end of a long day.
