A/N: Hello! I'm a first time fanfic author. I adore Harry Potter and the Marauders/First Order and hope you enjoy my story.
I'm not British so please forgive any glaring mistakes with the way the characters speak; I'll try to get them as authentic as possible.

This was it, she had done it.
Lily Jane Evans stepped onto Platform 9 and ¾ with a renewed sense of purpose. This was her year, her victory march. The Head Girl badge gleamed in the light and her newly cut hair swayed in time with her hips. No longer the awkward girl of sixteen whose body had yet to catch up with her mind, but a woman.
She was still sixteen, mind you, but had grown into her features and the males at Platform 9 and ¾ were definitely noticing. Their gazes almost burned her milky skin, but she paid no mind. There was only one boy she was hoping to impress today. Her famous emerald eyes searched for him, wondering where in Merlin he was. Hadn't he owled her the night before, requesting her to meet him here, in the exact middle of the platform?
He had always had a penchant for the over dramatic, but this was ridiculous. Although, the thought of seeing him after nearly a summer apart sent a shiver up her spine and an unconscious smile formed on her face. She was happy, truly happy, for the first time in her life. The sense of belonging, something that had been foreign to her all these years had crept into her heart and filled it with pride.
Head Girl, a wonderful boyfriend and her best friends by her side. It was almost too good to be true and a smidgeon of worry marred the perfect year she had been painting, but the doubt had erased as soon as she heard a wolf whistle behind her.
"Lily Evans, don't you look utterly ravishing?"
Her heart nearly stopped as she turned and looked at him.
"You're late." She whispered, drinking in his face.
"You wound me, Miss Evans. Isn't this the part where you tell me how much you've missed me and proceed to shag the living daylights out of me?"
He had a mischievous grin on his face and she felt herself wrapping her arms around him, winding her fingers into his unruly hair. She felt him breath the scent of her hair in and kissed his stubbly cheek.
"I've missed you so much, Sirius Black."
...
Fucking first years.
Marlene McKinnon let the pillar of smoke coming from her cig curl and disappear before taking another drag. Her mother gave her a disapproving glance, which she chose to ignore, as usual. The aforementioned first years had bumped into Marlene and accidently knocked all her suitcases to the ground. They stammered out apologies and quickly righted the luggage before scurrying off.
Fucking first years.
She glanced around at the happy parents tearfully saying good bye to their children and rolled her eyes.
"Alright, Marlene, here we are."
Her mother had the beginnings of tears forming her eyes and Marlene shot a desperate look at her father, hoping he could at least calm her down.
"I'm sorry, Marly, I really am, but it's just… it's your last year! You're a woman now." Her mother let out a noisy sob that was attracting the attention of people passing by.
"Mum, please, don't make a scene. I've got to go now." She ran a hand through her wild coal curls and tapped her foot impatiently, dropping her cigarette and crushing it under her shoes.
"You're right, you're right." Her mother wiped the tears off of her face and hugged Marlene tightly. Before she pulled away, she ran a gentle hand over Marlene's face, almost smoothing the angry creases out and Marlene knew what she was thinking; what happened to you?
Marlene shrugged her off and gave a quick hug to her father before taking her luggage and boarding the train. She turned, one last time, to memorize their faces before leaving them behind.
Another year at Hogwarts.
Fuck.
