'Twas the night before the games,

And all through the center,

The tributes were training ,

Preparing to enter.

In the silent arena, forcefields were glimmering,

Harsh winds were blowing and cold snow was shimmering,

Snow, the president of the gruesome celebration,

Could barely wait for tomorrow's congregation.

Families in the distance lay awake in fear,

For soon their loved ones would disappear,

The hunger racking their stomachs was no longer first,

For their dear children they feared the worst.

The sun rises on a new day,

Tributes wake up and march away,

Whether they arrived by name or by choice,

The people of the Capitol begin to rejoice.

The games were horrid,

Full of blood and gore,

The tributes weren't prepared,

For what was in store.

Soon two tributes stand alone,

And one final scream ebbs into a moan.

The victor stands tall,

No pride in her stance,

None at all…..

Vengeance reigns,

It rules her minds,

Now it's only,

A matter of time.

Alone in the scarlet snow,

Remains only one,

The Capitol will pay,

For what they have done…

Merry Christmas Hunger Games Fans! I'd like to send a shout out to S_, C_, and E_. Who helped me write this, and a special thanks to my English teacher, who assigned the 'Twas the Night before Christmas Parody. Tapering is a great thing!

I apologize for A.) if this wasn't very good… S and I are writers, not necessarily poets, so the quality could be iffy. Or if B.) I creeped you out, apparently where reading this aloud I scared my English class… So yeah… but thank you for reading and I would appreciate a review.

Happy Holidays to all!
