For The Opposite day Challenge where my pairing is Severus and Hermione.. One that I am not that familiar with. Mostly because I find it difficult to keep Severus in character. So I am seeing how this goes but I am going to try an write more. I may continue this as a multi-chapter, but I am not sure.

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter.

"Severus?" a voice asked softly stepping into the light of the dungeon, if the pale haze around the centre could be called light. But that didn't really matter because the person in front of him illuminated the room beyond what any mere light could do.

"Miss Granger?" he asked politely hiding any indication that he was happy to see her.

"Call me Hermione," she insisted stepping forward. This was dangerous and Severus knew this. So he recoiled and watched as a small smile spread along Hermione's face.

"That would be inappropriate," Severus snapped retaining authority that he did not feel.

"Why?" Hermione asked walking around the room and inspecting the many potions lining the wall.

"I am your professor Miss Granger. Now if there is nothing else please leave my classroom," he growled looking at his desk, yet his desk was different, it was clean and the papers were out dated. His attention snapped back to Hermione as she giggled, her attention was still on the potions around the room.

"Don't you understand?" she asked her fingers gracefully grazing the potions.

"Understand what Miss Granger?" Severus snapped growing more impatient at this game. Hermione moved closer to him and placed her hand against his face.

"Miss Granger," Severus barked. Hermione just giggled and pulled out her wand summoning a mirror beside them. She stood up on her toes so her face was in line with his.

"Take a look," she whispered against his lips. Severus couldn't even see the mirror any more. All her could see was Hermione and her big full lips. He made a move to remove her from him, but his hand did not stop at her shoulder, instead he gripped it in her hair and pull her against him. Their lips met and they kissed with an intensity that neither of them understood. Hermione wrapped her arms around him and pulled him against her.

Severus had to stop this, he push back and Hermione starred at him out of breath and her eyes were full of lust.

"You do understand," she breathed.

"Hermione," he started but Hermione stopped him.

"The mirror," she said. Severus pitied her so instead of fighting it he turned to face the mirror and starred at it in fright. He was young again, sixteen maybe seventeen, his hair was long and well kept. He looked back at Hermione.

"We can finally be together," Hermione said standing up and pulling him towards her.

"I don't understand," Severus said.

"What don't you understand?" Hermione asked.

"You see me the same way I see you?" he asked curiously.

"Of course I do. I haven't excelled in potions for nothing," Hermione responded. "I wanted your attention," she said softly.

Beep beep beep.

"What is that noise?" Severus asked.

"What noise?" Hermione asked pulling Severus against him and kissing him. Severus fell into the kiss but the noise became louder. Faster. It was unbearable, but the kiss was too powerful to give up.

Beep beep beep.

BEEP BEEP BEEP

Severus shot up in bed, and starred around the dark room looking for his alarm clock. He shut it off and starred at himself in the mirror, he was old, greasy and worry lined his face. He sighed frustrated with himself, with his mind and with his impeccable sense to always fall for people he had absolutely no chance of being with.

With his general self loathing in mind, he continued his morning routine before work of having a long cold shower.
