Hamato Yoshi looked down at his body, shocked by the transformation. That strange green subtance, mutagen the identical men called it, had changed his whole body from a human to a giant rat.
Hamato Yoshi, now deciding to name himself Splinter, looked up when he heard something from down in the sewers.
He saw a little way down 4 little green creatures. Sniffing to make sure they weren't dangerous, Splinter cautiously went forward to them. He saw that they were wet, and decided that someone must've drained the turtles down a toilet. Poor turtles.
He heard a little noise, more of a grunt, and looked down to see a turtle with emerald eyes looking up at him, as if waiting for something.
"What is it, little one?" Splinter asked, crouching down
The emerald eyed turtle turned his head to the water, where Splinter could see another turtle struggling to get out. Splinter immediately understood. He went to the edge of the concrete, and helped the turtle out of the water. It looked up at him with baby blue eyes, and licked his fur in Splinter's hand where he was holding him. Splinter decided that was his way of saying 'thank you' and chuckled "You are welcome, little one"
Splinter put him down on the ground, and noticed that there was mutagen around. Splinter assumed that the turtles had also gotten mutagen on them too, for they were a bit larger than normal turtles.
He saw two more turtles emerge from the darkness, one with reddish brownish eyes, and another with blue eyes. The red-brown eyed turtled walked as fast as he could to the baby blue turtle, making sure he was okay, and the blue one walked to the emerald one.
Splinter also made an assumption that these turtles had to be brothers. No other turtles would act this way toward each other if they weren't related. They would more or less, tear each other apart if they weren't made for each other.
Gathering three of the turtles in his arms, he tried getting the blue eyed one in his arm, but he wouldn't fit.
Deciding that he would find a home for these turtles and come back to track the blue ones scent later, Splinter took off, not knowing that someone was close behind...
Once Splinter left, the turtle began making noises, calling out for his brothers. Close by, someone whispered "Stop"
His companions stopped, and he asked "Do you hear that?"
They nodded, and went to the source of the sound. It became closer and closer. Finally, they saw a green turtle with blue eyes, neck outsretched, seemingly calling for someone.
"There's mutagen" The man pointed out, and said "The turtle must've gotten mutagen on him. If he continues to be alone, he won't survive"
"What do you think we should do with the turtle, Master?" A man asked
The man, called Master, walked over to the turtle and placed in the plam of his hand. The turtle, being picked up, stopped calling for whoever he was calling for. He looked innocently up at Master with confused, curious blue eyes.
"I will raise the turtle as one of my own. Obviously he has been abandoned by his family, whoever they are, and I will become his new family. I will form a close bond with him, and train him to become my most trusted soldier. He will never betray me. I will become his new father. From this point on, this turtle, Leonardo, is to become the heir of Oroku Saki, or as I'm better known as, Master Shredder"
