Foreword
I wasn't always as popular as I am now. I was laughed and taunted at
George Washington Middle School. Everyone there was pretty and rich,
I was neither. My mom earned money working in unhealthy environments.
My mom would wake up at 5:00 am and come home at 6:00 PM. I never had
a decent meal because at 6:30 PM she would be out the door for her
next job, the one she would only get out of at midnight. My dad, well
that man, left me and my mom when I was born. He said he wasn't ready
to have a child. He was only 17 at the time of my birth.
Getting back to my middle school, I had one true friend. Regina was
the only one I could trust. Turns out I could not even had trusted
her. At my eighth grade graduation, she came up to me and told me the
worst thing anyone has ever told me.
"Hey loser."
"What?"
"You heard me. I said 'Hey loser'"
"Why would you say that?"
"Look, Sam I can't be seen with you in high school. I was a
retard to even start hanging out with you in the first place. The
only thing you were good for was cheating off of from tests and
tutoring."
"But..."
"But... nothing. I have to go you really need a make over
honey..."
"Filha da puta (son of a bitch)"
So that was the end of me and Regina. But enough of that. Now lets go
back to my dad. It was my first day at high school and when I get
home from the worst day of my life, I hear my mom saying "Nao
pode ser... o que deabo esta a fazer a qui? (it cant be.. what
the hell are you doing here?"
