"And how exactly is this going to protect me?" Snape was sneering, watching Hagrid's even strokes.
"Jes' wait." Hagrid was grinning underneath his beard, swirling his strokes slightly.
Snape lifted one of his hands, staring at the thin layer of acrylic covering his talon-like nails. It lay evenly across the length, smooth and bright at the same time.
"I still do not understand why you chose this color."
"It fits ye." Hagrid lifted Snape's other hand to his lips, pressing a kiss to the palm.
Another moment of studying his nails and Snape had to disagree with Hagrid. Purple was not his color.
