The Three Domains

In a realm not unlike the world of today, there exists a land where youkai reign, called Raiesha. It is a place of darkness, a place to be feared. Numerous murders occur there and it is a common for blood to be shed in front of the eyes of young ones, a common sight indeed. They were considered to be the "evil", as every story in the history of the world has an evil side and a good side, rivaling against each other for victory.

There are those, among the wicked of blood, that strive through the darkness of their bloodline to prove their worthiness of the world, and to purge the "evil" from their veins. Those do not fare well in the domain of the youkai, and are often killed.

If they were not killed, then they were sent to the land of the mortals, of the innocent. They were shunned; they were exiled and cast into the land of Gaea, the land of dirt, as the youkai referred to the people living in their humble ways far off beyond the Desert of Raji and the Mountain of Raui. None of the youkai who ventured there ever returned to confirm the myths that floated about the land.

It was rumored that those people of the dirt, they, who inhabited the land of Gaea, had been given the foresight to how things were to happen. Simply put, it was said those mud beings had the power to prophesize. Few youkai were ever able to foretell the impending days, and only one had been able to prophesize past her twelfth birthday.

They were mysterious things to the inhabitants of Raiesha, like bogeymen created to scare the little ones who would not obey their parents. "Do not get a step closer or I'll get your uncle to go fetch the Gaeans!" But an even better threat for little ones, the more fractious ones, was, "Keep up that tone with me and the Tsuchis will come for you!"

The Tsuchis, the people of Tsuki, were the sworn adversaries of the youkai. They were, as it is with all stories, the "good" side. They were the protectors of the land, full of people with powers. Abilities only those that priestesses and priests have. The sworn enemy of the Raiens, Tsuchis were known for their ruthless ways with demolishing youkai and purifying hanyou.

It has been such that way of life for over eight centuries. And now - there has been a truce of bitter hatred between the two lands.

The "princess" of the Tsuchis has been pronounced to wed the "prince" of the Raiens. Murders have declined in numbers by the hundred and the two domains no longer seek so much bloodshed. The marriage of the princess and the prince shall determine the fate of the three domains of Gaea, Raiesha, and Tsuki but it is not known if it is for the better or worse of life.

And this is the tale of their torture, pain, destruction, and love.

AN: Prologue is always short. Don't know if update will be frequent or not. Still skinning plot bunnies. - bs
