Light Yagami walked into L`s bedroom,he stood still at the end of the detective`s bed the man was sulking in his infamous position; knees against chest, hugging said knees, looking at nothing in particular.

"Ryuuzaki..." Light shook L`s shoulder, when the detective didnt answer he squeezed the shoulder softly.

"Ryuuzaki..." He repeated.

No answer, the silence was quite terrifying.

Light Yagami sat next to detective, it seemed like L had built a wall around himself, he didnt move a muscle and he didnt blink, he had the usual spacy look on his face, although this time...this time it had something sad, maybe Light was seeing things, maybe the lack of artificial light in the room at that moment played tricks on him, but Light was almost sure there were tears in the detective`s eyes.

"Light-Kun..." L said it soo softly and his lips didnt seem to move, Light thought he was imagining it.

Whatever came over Light he did it without thinking twice, the tone in L`s sad voice was too emotional for Light not to do what he did.

At first he frowned, then he grabbed the detective by the shoulder and forced him to himself, L`s head was resting on Light`s chest, with his right hand he put his hand where Light`s should have been, he wondered, does Kira have a heart?

"Light-Kun, what if I die tommorow?"

Light weakly smiled and rested his head on L`s, "Ryuuzaki, you wont die, I wont let you go away that easily, and if that day shall come I promise you I will never leave your side, no matter what, I will always be with you."

L let out a sigh, his words felt sincere, but there was something bittersweet in those words, Light nudged L`s shoulder, L looked up and looked him straight in the eye, they smiled.

Of course, that was before Light`s memories came back and before Light was forced to watch L die beneath him, before L finally got the sleep he never got and before Light held him for on last time, he knew it was his fault, he knew it was him who made Rem kill L, he knew that the moment his memories returned Kira had won and L had lost.

But there was something, an overwhelming sadness and anger when Light stared into L`s eyes as he was ready to sleep, angry with himself for being Kira, despite his promise and what actually happened, Light loved L, and he will keep loving him, no matter what.

December 2013, the faithfull day had arrived, Near had beaten Light Yagami, Kira, and the "God" he intented to be had lost against the Wammy Boys, he was on the stairs, his last breaths took place.

"Light-Kun, Kira, I thought you said you will never leave my side?" L said with a little grinn.

"..."

"Light-Kun is a liar."

"..."

"Well, I never left your side, Light-Kun." L acknowleged.

"..."

"Right, you`re dying, of course you can`t speak, remember when you held me all those years ago and thought you had won?"

"..."

"Its laughable really, you always had to have the last word and now you`re finally silent."

"..."

"Goodbye, Light-Kun."

A/N Erk, that was remotely pointless, the only thing I can conclude of this that my writing "skills " are vanishing.
