Doctor Who
The Sign of Something Wrong
' He's been here, I can tell. But where is he?'
She looked at the crime scene. Here and there, she could see the little alien figures that hadn't made it. A distinct tyre-mark was on a few bodies of them. She looked at the logo of the complex.
' At least I know what to call you should you arrive in my neck of the woods.' She thought for a moment, wondering where that phrase had came from. She remembered her mum always said it when she was little and when she was growing up. ' Adipose. Adiposians. Mind you, their 'parents' put on quite a show. Oh, poor woman.'
She was referring to the woman in the Supernanny-type getup that had been dropped from the tractor beam. Her body had been taken away by four people in a black SUV.
She had thought it was weird that the police or paramedics hadn't carted the body off. Her heart had almost jumped when one of the members mentioned the name 'Jack'. But, then again, there was thousands of people with that name.
' Then again, she was probably one of the people behind all of this. Well, apart from her 'employers'. But I know he was here, saving the day as usual.'
She smiled, remembering a simpler time when she and him would trek across the galaxy in his magical blue box and right wrongs and get caught up in all sorts of scrapes. Slitheen in Downing Street, Cyber-men at Canary Wharf, a possible new empire with a Werewolf in charge, essence-swapping with a stuck-up, old bi--
Her thoughts were suddenly cut off by a red-headed woman, possibly in her early 30's, calling out.
" Listen." She said, as she walked over to her. " There's this woman going to come along. Tall blonde woman called Sylvia. Tell her 'that bin there.'" They both looked in the direction of a bin with a red plastic bag. " All right, it'll make sense. That bin there."
And, with a smile that only she knew could appear on someone's face when they had met him, she watched the red-head run off.
She turned back to face the crime scene. It was still going on. And she was still there.
Rose Tyler had returned to Earth. Her Earth. Home.
' These little sojourns are getting' too long.' She thought to herself with a sigh. ' I've been here for seven minutes now.'
Rose took one last look at the crime scene but saw no sign of him. She had seen him conferring with the redhead and a girl tied to a chair but he hadn't noticed her.
Rose Tyler sighed once more and turned around, heading down a road that led to a street. However, she didn't manage to walk around the corner. With no-one looking, she vanished slowly from this universe back to the one she's trapped on.
' No.' Rose corrected herself as she appeared back in the other universe. ' The universe I was trapped on. This is the start of something big. The sign of something wrong.'
The End.
