"Kurt I don't know if I can do this" said Blaine for what felt like the 15 time that hour.
"Blaine, Blaine, Blaine you can perform in front everyone at regional's but you can't perform for Glee Club?" Kurt replied, not trying to sound anything other than caring but he can answer the same thing so many times.
"It's not that Kurt, it's the song, the meaning I mean" Blaine said, worry clear in his voice.
"Look at me" Kurt said gently grabbing Blaine face to look at him. "Just imagine all of them bullies who ever knocked you down, everyone who said you couldn't sing in the audience and sing it to them. Prove them wrong" smiling as he finished. "You can do this"
"I can do this, I can do this" Blaine kept saying on his way to the auditorium.
"Next up, Blaine Anderson!"
Blaine gingerly walked on the stage, standing front and centre, lighting the spotlight absorb him.
"Hi everyone, I'm Blaine and I will be singing Skyscraper" after a round of applause, he began.
Skies are crying, I am watching You can take everything I have
Catching teardrops in my hands
Only silence, as it's ending, like we never had a chance.
Do you have to make me feel like there's nothing left of me?
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper, like a skyscraper
Kurt looks up at him with a huge smile, pride tattooed on his face.
As the smoke clears
I awaken and untangle you from me
Would it make you feel better to watch me while I bleed
All my windows still are broken but I'm standing on my feet
You can take everything I have Go run run run, I'm gonna stay right here
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper, like a skyscraper
Watch you disappear, yeah
Go run run run, yeah, it's a long way down
But I'm closer to the clouds up here
You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Ohh
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper, like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper, like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper
The club jumped up cheering and clapping, but Blaine didn't notice, he didn't care that he had got in the club; he had just proved every one of his bullies wrong. That was good enough for him, the club was just a bonus.
