Relena looked around her room. Her family was all around her bed. Her husband held her hand. "Don't worry, Relena. Don't worry. We'll see you through this."
"Yeah, Mom. Don't worry," said her son.
"Grandma, are you okay?" asked her grandson. She didn't reply any of them.
'Why? Why did you leave me, Heero? Why?' she thought.
Heero held her in his arms. "I'm sorry, Relena. It's time for me to go."
"Why, Heero? Why?"
"Because. Every moment I'm here, you are in danger. I can do this no longer! Good-bye!" he said, and stepped out of the room.
"No, Heero! No! Come back! Don't leave! Please!" He ignored her. Then, in front of her eyes, he boarded his Gundam, and left. "You will never see me again," he said, and now, over 50 years later, he had not returned. She had never seen him.
Tears flowed from her eyes. She had married him because he loved her. But she did not return his feelings. "I'm sorry, but I've lied to you all..." she replied, as she lied on her bed and as she started to lose control of her body. She started to twitch, and then her whole body convulsed, and she lapsed into unconsciousness. "I'm sorry, sir, but your wife does not have much longer," said the doctor.
"How much longer?" asked Relena's husband.
"About an hour. I'm very sorry, but I can do nothing," replied the doctor.
"No!" sobbed her husband.
Where had he gone? Why had he left her? Why? She knew that he loved her, but why had he left her that day?
Heero sits in the train, his old body still strong. He had changed his name, gotten married, lived another life, moved to a different country, and had destroyed his Gundam, but he still could not forget about Relena. He knew that if he had stayed with her, she may have died, but his heart still ached. And when he learned that she only had a few days left, he wanted to make sure that she would die in peace. He disembarked the train, and walked to the mansion that Relena lived in. His hands shook, and his heart started to pound. He wondered if she still remembered him. The moon had just risen, but he knew that he could not go through the front door. He decided to go into her room through the window. He looked in. Everybody was inside, crying. Then they all left the room, still crying. Only an old man stayed inside. He broke the window.
Relena heard a crash. What? Heero? Here? Now? But, why?
"Who are you? I can call security on you!" said her husband.
"Who am I? I was the one underneath the shadows, the one who protected her. I am the one once known as Heero Yuy!" said Heero.
"Heero?" Relena whispered.
"Is he the one?" asked her husband.
"Yes."
"She has not forgotten you, you fool! After all of these years, her heart still belongs to you. You shouldn't have left her. You shouldn't have!" Relena's husband started to cry and sob, and he left the room.
"Heero. Before I die, I just want to know why you left me," said Relena.
"I'm sorry, Relena. Then, in the still war-torn world, it was the best thing to do. I'm sorry, but I thought, I mean, I knew that then, when I left you, it was the best thing to do. I'm sorry." Heero started to cry.
"Heero?"
"Yes?"
"I love you," said Relena, and then she closed her eyes, never to open them again.
"No!" Heero screamed. Her husband came in, and a shot was heard afterward.
Relena had been buried beside her husband who shot himself, and as Heero went down stairs leading up to her grave, he whispered, "I'm sorry, Relena. Good-bye."
So did you like it? I thought it was pretty sad, since I almost cried at the end, but I would like to know what you think about it, so please review!
