Mary
Mary isn't like the others
She thinks far beyond her years
They say that wisdom is a blessing
But what if wisdom was never a choice?
Choice is all Mary wants
She wants to chose her path
Mary used to dream of becoming a ballerina
But alas, for a daughter of Athena this is not acceptable
In Mary's future all that awaits is numbers and letters
Not pirouettes and pointe shoes
Mary does not want to be defined by her brain
But by her character and who she is
Sadly, Mary's only friends are those who want to use her
Friends are nothing but trouble
Good friends are hard to make
A sister should be enough
But Mary is an Athena girl
And Athena girls aren't the same
They say sisters should be tight
But what to do if you are too busy competing
To tell them of your plight
To tell them of your hopes
To tell them of your dreams
But Athena girls, they judge
And judging is not what Mary needs
Mary needs a mother
A mother who supports
A mother who's legacy does not crush her dreams
But you see, Mary is giving up
Because for the Grey Eyed Goddess, Mary is never enough
