Almost a year, and they were finally able to return to earth for extended vacations.
To make it even more wonderful John's request to have Teyla accompany him had been approved.
Walking onto the bridge of the Deadalus he asked a very unhappy looking Col. Caldwell, 'When will we be arriving in Earth's atmosphere?'
Not even spearing a glance in his direction he curtly said 'Twenty minutes Lt. Col.,' then continued reading his chart, which John clearly saw was upside down.
Shaking his head John walked to the quarters he'd been assigned and began gathering his belongings.
When he was finished he walked out and over to the quarters next door to check on Teyla.
Walking in John saw that he should have very much knocked before entering.
Doing a one eighty John mumbled his apologizes while he heard Teyla moving around trying to gather her necessary clothing.
Standing facing the door John didn't move until he felt a hand on his shoulder and Teyla's voice saying, 'What do you need, -----John?'
Even now she still hesitated to call him John.
Turning around he said, 'There's something I'd like to show you'.
Taking her hand lightly he pulled her out into the corridor, shortening his strides to match her own.
Minutes later they were at what looked like an observations deck. No one was around. It happened then, a bright stream of light entered through the window illuminating the entire deck in a pale almost silver light. Spinning to the direction Teyla saw the most exquisite sight.
Smiling at Teyla's amazed face John pointed to the moon, and the sun, explaining that their combined rays resulted in the almost silver rays.
Taking her by the shoulders he slowly turned her until she saw the Earth's surface. 'And that is what we call Earth' he said.
'Beautiful' was all she said.
And so side by side they stood watching as the Earth draw nearer, until they heard the announcement for debarking the ship.

Down on Earth at Stargate Command, John reported to do his expected briefing about the activities at the Atlantis base.
At that same moment Teyla was getting a full physical done in order for her to get full clearance to enter their world.
Since last seeing John almost an hour before, Teyla was becoming very uneasy and was beginning to twitch on the examination table, in nothing but a thin gown. Standing up she walked around the reading the plaques on the wall telling of all the doctors accomplishments.
Just at that moment Mitchell walked in followed closely behind by Daniel, both to whom she'd been introduced to once they'd been teleported into SGC.
Grabbing the neck and back of her gown Teyla cleared her throat trying to get their attention.
Spinning around Mitchell stared at her for what seemed like forever before Daniel who had spun right back around, grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the room calling back their apologizes.
'I knew I should have been a gynecologist' Mitchell said as he and Daniel walked down the hall to the control room.
Sighing Teyla wondered how is it that in one day so many people had seen her in an undressed state.

A/N: the whole sun and moon thing….I have no idea if that's even possible…just blame it on the benadryl….
