Chapter 4: Meeting the Hokage!
We all stared at each other with shock on our faces. All of us couldn't believe what had just happened, especially Rai-kun. He was just staring at my face, like he was on Cloud Nine.
"That... didn't happen..." I tried to cover up the scene.
"I think it did!!!!" Takara-chan and Anko-sensei squealed.
"No it DIDN'T!!!" I yelled.
A second later, we all heard strong footsteps coming down the hall... Oh crap. Please tell me that's not Daddy Hokage. But that's his signature walk! It HAS to be him! Sure enough, the Sixth Hokage came stepping around the corner, arguing with Master Jiraiya, his "assistant" (even though he doesn't do much).
"But, Lord Hokage, I really don't think that she could actually help with anything... I mean, seriously... she's a puny Genin." The pervy sage bickered.
"Jiraiya, don't EVER disrespect me by means of my daughter again." The Sixth Hokage warned.
"Of course, Lord Hokage. I'll never even THINK of it again. Your daughter is by far the strongest Genin this village has seen, besides you, The Sixth Hokage. I can't believe that I was your sensei. Too bad that Kakashi had to die before he saw what a wonder Natsumi-chan is." Jiraiya went on praising.
"Jiraiya. You can shut up now." The Hokage said.
"Yes... There's Miss Natsumi now!" He said to get the Hokage off the subject of himself.
Daddy Hokage greeted us and they showed respect. Except for me, who just waved at him...
"Good morning, Daddy Hokage. Me and Rai weren't just kissing now! Hahaha..." I tried to ward him off, showing unsuccessful.
"Excuse me?" The short-attention spanned Hokage asked.
"Oh nothing, Daddy... So when did you decide on letting me go on my first mission ever??" I asked enthusiastically.
The Sixth Hokage leaned back on one foot and rubbed the back of his head while he talked.
"Well, Natsumi... I don't really know." He chuckled.
Rai-kun, Takara-chan, Anko-sensei and I fell backwards. What?? He doesn't KNOW?!
"What?? You don't KNOW?!" I repeated from my mind.
"Well, Natsumi, I just thought that this would be a good time to give you your first mission... Especially since it's A- or S-ranked." The blondie added at the last minute.
"Oh..." I said.
"Oh." Takara acknowledged.
"Hn." grunted Rai.
(It took us a while, right? Yeah. We're a bit slow like that. Just wait, it should dawn on us any second...)
"Wait!! WHAT'D YOU JUST SAY??" I screamed.
"A- or S-ranked mission??" Takara asked in shock.
"Seriously?" Rai questioned the Hokage.
"Yes, yes. You are all going on your first mission that's actually supposed to be way past your current 'rank' of Genin," The Hokage explained, "and I believe you three are ideal for this mission."
I ran up and threw my hands around Daddy Hokage's neck... Be jealous. You know you wish you could do the same. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Yeah, okay. Ahem.
Rai and Takara looked at each other.
"Is she allowed to do that?" Takara whispered.
Rai shrugged his shoulders and apparently dismissed himself. He was almost to the end of the hallway when the Hokage appeared in front of him, startling Rai.
"And you're going where? Don't you wanna know when the mission is to take place, and where? Uchiha Rai, please come and join your team. Thanks." Naruto Uzumaki said sarcastically.
Rai turned around, and walked back to me and Takara with the Hokage at his side. I was stifling a laugh, and Takara was looking out the window. Takara noticed something and tugged at my sleeve.
"Hey, isn't that Sai?" she asked, pointing out the window.
"Sai?? He's home?" I asked.
