Prologue
Have you ever wondered if there were other creatures on this earth? Well I can tell for a fact that they do though you would know this if you weren't muggles and if your wondering what muggles are they are non-magic people.
Now what I am is not really human I guess, I'm a mermaid though I'm not like the merpeople in the Black Lake at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizandry, I'm actually somewhat pretty or that's what I've been told, well actually the last human who I let see me was Sir Godric Gryffindor who was a founder of Hogwarts he was the one who brought me to the Black Lake at Hogwarts so you can tell I'm fairly old though I don't appear it I think I'm about a thousand years old, though I'm not sure, I tell the years by the season and they vary in length don't they?
Well me and Godric meet in my home land of Ireland I'm actually the last of my kind or type if you will, of merpeople the others look more like fish rather then human like me. You see I appear to be about 16 I think it was, as I said I haven't seen many humans and Godric was in his twenties he said, and he said I looked about 16 but I'm not sure, I may have a good memory but its not that good. Well like I said I appear to be 16, I have mid-tail length black hair that shines purple in some light but that could also be from the water, I have violet eyes that darken or lighten according to my mood, I have a cute button nose according to Godric and a full mouth, my tail is dark purple, the only colour my eyes seem not to go, or I have not experienced that emotion yet for them to change that colour, my shells that I wear for a top has a spell that makes it be the same colour as my eyes whenever they change so does my top.
Well my life has been very boring except for the odd time I play around with the Giant Squid or when I come close to being discovered my humans, you see the other merpeople do not seem to like me overly much it could be because I can talk above water or because I have a human upper body, because it can't be one of those trivial human trait that make humans jealous of others, I mean yes I am thin, well very thin, ok well scarily thin that you can see my ribs, but the food here doesn't taste as good as back in Ireland but I make do. It can't be because I'm beautiful, I don't think they would notice for they all look alike, hmm maybe its because I'm different or because I'm special to be the last of my kind? Because it's not very fun, what I'm supposed to do is replenish the deep sea of Ireland with my children but I see a BIG problem with that, one there are no male of my type anymore, two they would probably interbreed which would make the whole population probablamatic, they might get disabilities or be stupid and get eaten by meat eating creatures or get caught! So that is a definite no, and I can't breed with the merpeople here, we'd have a new species and they'd more then likely look very odd, plus they don't like me. Hmm I really need a friend… besides the giant squid.
I also just realized I never said who I am, my name is Seremela and I would tell you my last name but you wouldn't be able to pronounce it.
