Alright, just a little note from my side: English is not my native tongue and this text is quite old, so I sincerely hope my skills have become better over the time. I basically wrote this to see if I could actually create something at least half understandable. Just wanted to ask you (yeah, you, not the guy with the cap over there) to keep that in mind while reading (:
He just stood there. He couldn't move. It was like a movie. A really, really bad movie. It was like… like… He didn't know what it was like. It was just wrong. Was he supposed to do something? He didn't know. He just stood there and watched her whole body trembling. Her shoulders trembled; her waist, even her hair. It wasn't as shiny as usually. The sun had covered itself with dark, grey clouds. Like the sky knew what was going on down there on earth. It made him angry. Why did the sky know what to do in this situation? How could this be? How couldn't he know what to do now?
He blinked. A lonesome raindrop had fallen from the sky and hit him in the eye. Wet. He wiped it away. Suddenly there were more raindrops. They started falling like they had just waited for the one, which had hit him in the eye, to fall. He felt the rain on his face but he was watching the girl in front of him. Her shirt was already going to be wet. Without thinking he took off his black leather jacket and placed it on her shoulders. Surprised she looked at him. Of course, she wouldn't have expected him of all people. Her wonderful brown eyes were full off tears she hadn't cried. He just could look back. It was terrible to see her that way and not to have the possibility to do something. Suddenly she threw herself in his arms. He was so surprised that he lost his balance and they hit the ground. She seemed not to notice their fall. She just pulled herself closer to him. The jacket fell from her shoulders. Burying her face on his chest, she cried quietly. His shirt was getting more and more wet now. The rain felt like cold needles, while her tears left a warm and heartbreakingly sad feeling on his chest. Carefully he took his jacket and put it around them. Softly, like he was handling a little bird, he embraced her. His heart beat harder.
"Hey, Princess." It came out of his mouth like his brain was switched off. And maybe it was. Maybe it was his heart speaking now. "You know, Jennifer, no matter how many clouds seem to be in your life and no matter how much it rains, the sun will appear again every time."
She looked at him, her eyes still full off tears.
He immediately wanted to take his words back. She would think he had gone crazy, blabbering sentimental stuff like that. For a little moment he thought about saying something rough, something the Billy Loomer everyone at middle school had known would have said.
But then there was something like a smile in her face. It was a quiet, unsure smile. She whispered: "I think the sun has already risen."
They pulled each other tightly and listened to the rain falling down.
