Really, this pairing should get more love.
Disclaimer: Don't own it. Really, I don't.
It was improper.
One was a man from the streets.
One was the Queen.
Society was supposed to be fuming. The Queen should have married another noble. The previous king would have worked nicely as her husband.
However, society didn't quite care.
When the citizens of Daein saw the Queen, clad in a dazzling dress that matched perfectly with her hair, walking out of the chapel, side by side, hand in hand with her newlywed husband, they cheered loudly and happily.
Thousands upon thousands of petals; tulips, chrysanthemums, violets, roses of all shades, were tossed onto their path, occasionally catching in the wedding clothes of the couple and getting caught in their hair. They didn't bother to brush them away. Between grasping the other's hand and waving happily at masses, they didn't have the capability to.
As they arrived at their waiting stagecoach, they turned to wave to the crowds one last time. Before helping his wife into the carriage, Sothe took a step closer to Micaiah.
"I love you" he whispered, holding both her hands at chest height. Micaiah smiled warmly at him.
"I love you too" she replied, moving in even closer to quickly peck him on the lips. The crowd roared with cheers before Sothe jumped into the stagecoach. His extended hand was taken by Micaiah, and he pulled her into the coach before closing the door, leaving the two to themselves for the first time in days.
It may have been improper, but in the long run they made such a good couple nobody was inclined to care.
