Well, I wrote this on impulse. Giratina's female in this one, and it's really drabble-ish.

Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon.

Why is watching him go so painful?

"Surprised to see me here?"

"Dialga said someone died. I didn't expect it to be you…" The banished Legendary of Dimensions spoke, her voice barely audible even in the silence of Turnback Cave.

"Legendary or not, I'm still not immortal." Latios replied. His translucent form shifted, fading out of view for a second before returning to being semi-transparent once again. "How's life since you got banished?"

"Dark, depressing and full of the dead." Speaking of the dead made Giratina think of Latios' sister, who obviously would take the blue Eon's death hard. "I never thought I'd live to see the day when a Legendary would pass over…"

It's only another life, right? I've seen so many others, both human and Pokemon, cross dimensions, so why is his so different?

"There's a first time for everything."

"That's beside the point, Latios! You're dead! Or, you will be, once you cross. Don't you feel anything at all? Pain, guilt, or even sorrow?"

The expression on the Eon Legendary's face shifted. "All that and more. I never even got to tell Lugia how I felt about her! And I told Latias to tell her that, even though I knew that it would probably destroy her! How do you think I feel?!"

Giratina's stoic expression had transformed into one of utter shock at Latios' outburst. To hear something like that from someone whom she knew was usually quiet (at least before her banishment) was shocking, to say the least.

"Look," Latios continued, sounding a bit calmer. "I don't regret sacrificing myself to protect Altomare. Arceus would probably forbid Dialga from changing the timeline, and even if it did change, there will be another incident like that one. It's just a matter of time."

"I know that." The Renegade Legendary responded, not knowing what else to say.

Is this what Arceus warned me about before I got 'assigned' here full-time? That sometimes, the ones who suffer the most aren't those who died but those that are left behind?

"Giratina?"

"Dialga?" The sole resident of the Distortion World blurted out, unable to stop herself.

"Guess it's time for me to go." The half-translucent Latios said, interrupting Giratina's thoughts and breaking her mental link to the Temporal Legendary.

"But-"

"No buts. Everyone has to go to the other dimension someday. Tell the other Legends to take care of Latias, will you?"

Before Giratina could reply, the blue Eon passed through the portal that Giratina had seen many others do so before. A moment later, there was no trace of Latios.

"Giratina? Can you still sense me?"

"Latios just left…"
