AUTHOR'S NOTES: Well folks, this is number two! It's, as stated above, "Yesterday" by the Beatles, which pwns. I love this song and I was so, so happy when it popped up on my iPod screen during this whole mess. The title is taken from the Spring Awakening song "Totally Fucked". This is short. Really short. With that, enjoy!
Tom Collin's troubles had parked themselves in the middle of his kitchen.
Not literally, of course, that would be ridiculous, but, lately, it had seemed that all the worries he had kept at bay for so long had all invaded his life at the exact same time. Yeah, great timing, guys.
Angel, oh god Angel, the love of his life had died, Roger left for Santa Fe, Joanne and Maureen weren't speaking to each other, Mimi was using again and Mark had retreated back inside himself again, replying to every inquiry about his well-being with a generic 'Oh, yeah, I'm fine."
He wasn't fine, none of them were. The entire lot of them was screwed, fucked, messed up, tinkered with beyond repair and they knew it. Collins had done such a good job, packing these impending fears into the corner these past few months. Why had they all decided to become restless now?
And then there was the matter of Angel's death sinking in. It had been slow going, that was for sure. He still woke up some morning, expecting to find the younger man's beautiful face beside him. He still absentmindedly called for him every once in a while. He still sometimes set out two plates for dinner. When there was food, of course.
Sometimes, it felt like yesterday when the whole group was together again and they were all relatively happy.
Oh, what Tom Collins wouldn't give for another chance at yesterday.
