A/N: Perhaps the only thing Andith needs is some galaxtic support. [or it's simply too warm outside...] ;-)))

„Don't do this", an unfamiliar voice said to Anthony Strallan.
"Don't do what?" the groom whispered back without knowing to whom he was speaking.
"Don't walk away from her."
Sir Anthony turned around. "What? How? WHO are you?"
"It doesn't matter who I am, Sir Anthony", the stranger answered. "The one and only thing is that you don't leave your pretty lady alone in front of this altar."
Sir Anthony eyed the skinny man next to him suspiciously. How could this man know what he decided only seconds ago?
"But...", he stammered in a low voice. "It would be the best for her. She has to shine, to bloom and not to spend her life at the side of an old cripple."
"How could she bloom, when the man she loves so much would leave her?" the stranger whispered back. "Trust me, Sir Anthony, the life at your side will be the best for Edith Crawley."
"But her family..."
"Screw them and their opinions."
"Anthony, do you know, what this blue box outside is?" Edith, Lady Strallan asked her newly married husband. "Papa doesn't know anything about it."
"This is mine", a skinny stranger in a strange suit lent to her husband's support. "Don't worry. It will be gone tomorrow."
Edith looked at Anthony.
"This is...", her husband hurried to say.
"Smith, John Smith", the man introduced himself, while Anthony added: "A very good friend of mine."
Meanwhile John Smith took her hands in his and shook them. "I'm very pleased to meet you, Lady Strallan, very pleased."
"Thank you", Edith answered. The man's enthusiasm surprised her a bit. "I'm afraid my husband never mentioned you before."
"We met quite recently", John Smith replied and winked at Anthony.
"Quite recently", the same agreed. "But I already owe him a lot."
