Disclaimer: There's not much that's Tolkien's in here, but what is, is; you'll recognize it. The PPC is the brainchild of Jay & Acacia, c/o Miss Cam. The original MST belongs to Best Brains, Inc. Mary-Sues, well, I don't know who coined the term, but they belong to their authors, as few other people are willing to take care of them.
A/N: We've all heard the debates between purists and revisionists, probably had a chuckle over a Sue parody or two. But why would any author in its right mind continue to write/enjoy such things as "reformed Mary Sues," such as parodies, MSTs, tenth-walker AUs, PPCs, etc? Well, for a start, they could be out of their minds, like me, but other than that... My Inner Luster and Outer Purist attempt to shed new light on the question, through poetic debate. (Personally, I love all of the above, when done right. No disrespect is intended. Now if I could get myself to stop rhyming...)
Warg's child, womb child, tiger-daughter too,
Wherefore wander so far you?
Canst thou not in canon stay,
Must you ever wander 'way?
{O}
Mother falcon, sorrow for me not
Though your sharp eyes my sins spot.
My love lives here same as thine.
My expressions merely mine.
{O}
But for dark friends burns the blacker flame.
Purer minds shall put to shame
The arrogant, overblown
Ones that have with angels flown.
{O}
But shall angels have death and sorrow?
We never hope tomorrow
Can bring joy and escape from
Today's troubles; we must run.
{O}
There are other paths through your darkness,
Other methods to harness.
With control of emotions,
Comes wisdom and true notions.
