Firestar sat underneath an oak tree debating on whether or not he should hunt or sleep. His mate, Sandstorm, padded into view.

"Firestar! There you are! The whole camp is looking for you!"

"Sorry for disappearing like that," he dipped his head. "I wanted to have some time to myself because of all the hunting patrols, the border patrols, training Bramblepaw, and...and..."

Sandstorm had lied down next to him and cut him off. "You could have just said something. I know how stressful things can be," Firestar purred an agreement. "but what's the real reason you ran off?"

Firestar's eyes widened. She can see straight through me.

He sighed. "I-I had a dream last night."

"What was it about?"

"It was about you."

"Oh?"

"You were in pain. I couldn't get to you and I couldn't see what was wrong. No matter how fast I ran you stayed the same distance from me. It...was h-horrible!" He was shaking at this point.

"It's okay. I won't let that happen."

Firestar sniffed. "Would you go hunting with me?"

Sandstorm smiled. "Sure."

The two of them got up and padded through the forest. Sandstorm stopped and opened her mouth to drink in the air. "Mouse. That way." She flicked her tail to the left. Firestar crouched down and inched forward toward the scuffling in the bracken. Just as he was about to strike Sandstorm pounced on him.

They rolled over in the grass and wrestled with each other.

"What was that for?"

"..."

He gave a mrrow of laughter. He got up and she ran off. He looked confused for a second, then chased after her. She stopped and turned around all of a sudden. He ran into her and they both rolled around on the ground.

"You know I love you right?" Firestar asked when they stopped.

"I do."

Firestar smiled.

"I think we should get back to camp." he said.

"Race you back!"

They both raced off, laughing, in the direction of the camp.
