A/N Right, you might not be getting a whole lot of these since I kinda did something to my finger (ER doc said I chipped it, but couldn't say for sure) and it's impedeing my typing and very much my ability to handwrite, so I'm sticking to uploading what I have (long slow burn and these two drabbles) It's another one for the Ultimate Fanfic Challenge, and thus, is G/J.
"You know it's ungodly early, right?" She rolled over to face him, frowning at the grin on his face.
"It's not ungodly early, it's five." He replied looking at the alarm clock. "Correction, it's five after five." She rolled back over, burying her face in the pillow.
"I repeat, it's ungodly early." He laughed low and deep and she grabbed the pillow from his side of the bed whacking him with it. "Either get me some caffeine or let me sleep." She was mumbling into her pillow, trying to fall back into dreamworld.
"Fine." He said and she felt soft lips and rough stubble caress the back of her neck as she felt him get up from the bed, leaving her alone. She frowned. This wasn't good. He never let her sleep he was planning something. He never left her alone for a few more minutes when they needed to get to work, he seemed to think that because she was dating him she should have the same standards of arriving early, even when her shift started at seven. Although two hours was early, even for him.
Bit she was liking this far too much. She was too tired to think of why he might be doing this, of what he was scheming. Instead she let her eyes close again, falling back to sleep. She had been up far too late the night before to do anything but sleep. She didn't know how he had the boundless energy that he had, but it was unnatural.
She was awakened sometime later by the smell of breakfast cooking. When she looked at the angry red letters of the alarm clock she was amazed to see that a full half hour had gone by. She was just about to get out of bed when he walked in with a tray. "Wow. I get breakfast in bed. What do you want?" She asked, grabbing the cup of coffee before the tray was even set down and taking a long gulp.
"What, I can't be sweet and romantic once in a while?" he asked and she cocked her head to one side, staring at him.
"No. I know you too well Gar, what do you want?" He merely chuckled, infuriating her all the more. "It's too early to be playing games with me Garret, spill, now." He shook his head and dove into his breakfast.
"I'm not scheming anything, I'm not planning anything and I don't want anything." He said as he washed down a bite with his own coffee. She smirked.
"Well then do I get breakfast in bed every day?" He smiled and shook his head.
"Only if you cook it." She laughed.
"Wouldn't that be me making you breakfast in bed?" He shrugged before kissing her. "And why do you have to be allergic to strawberries?" She complained looking at the meager arrangement of fruit. He shrugged.
"Can't help it." He said and she grabbed a grape.
"My favorite fruit. Couldn't be allergic to like, i don't know, pears or something?" He laughed. "Grapes and melon just isn't as sexy as strawberries." His eyebrow quirked.
"Is that all you can ever think about?" She grinned.
"It seems to be on your mind a lot too." She countered, leaning back against him and he shrugged.
"I'm a man, it's supposed to be on my mind a lot." She laughed and kissed him.
"Right." She murmured, kissing him again before setting the tray down on the floor before pushing him down against the bed.
"How did you know what I wanted for bringing you breakfast in bed?" He teased as she pulled off his robe. "And why I got you up so early?"
"Intuition." She said, kissing him once more, not caring that breakfast went cold.
