Title: Pudding

Rating: K

Pairing: Draco/Hermione

Summary: "The story takes place in the fall. The story must have a cat at the beginning." 5/12/10

Pudding's tail flickered from side to side as she stretched out on the couch. Hermione yawned, tracing a hand absently over the cat while she turned a page in her book. The crisp fall air was whipping down the chimney, swirling the brown, yellow, red, and orange leaves in little bursts outside the window.

It seemed Hermione never had a moment's peace anymore. Between Draco and Twila, their daughter, every day was a blur of movement. But Draco had taken Twila to the park all by himself, which was a feat in and of itself. Hermione stretched her feet and curled her toes out underneath Pudding, watching as the cat blinked her gold eyes in blissfulness.

The happy squeal of a child broke the sweet silence as Hermione glanced over her shoulder, looking out the window. Twila was running as fast as her little five year old legs could pump her, her golden blonde hair streaming out behind her like a banner as Draco closed in on her. His sweater (rumpled with leaves and little sticks stuck to it) clashed horribly with his hair and pale skin, the golds and oranges making him look bleached and washed out.

But Hermione didn't care. All she saw was the curl of his lips as he chased their daughter, the joyful spark of pride in his stark grey-blue eyes.

For today, life was good. She had her husband, her daughter, her book, and most importantly of all: she had her cat.

A/N: Random drabble. :) Working on a new story, we'll see how it goes. Enjoy!
