Author's Note: Just some meaningless drabble that I came up with after viewing the LO:CI season opener "Amends." LO:CI characters belong to Dick Wolf and company. I'm just taking them for a spin. :o)

The clock on the computer screen read 3:45 a.m. Angel stretched and yawned as she pushed back from the computer. She had been working nonstop for the past 4 hours, trying to get the accounts payable worksheets for one of her clients to balance before having to present the figures to them at 10:00 a.m. that morning. She sat down on the couch and turned the volume of the T.V. up just a little to hear the latest update from the newscaster about the police officer who had been gunned down.

Big, fat teardrops rolled down Angel's cheeks as she continued watching the news. "So, this is what I have to look forward to by being involved with Bobby," she thought. "Long, sleepless nights of staying up, worrying and wondering if he'll make it back home alive."

Angel heard the front door being opened and closed and the security alarm being set. She smiled to herself as she heard the floorboards creak under Bobby's weight as he came down the hall. He stopped in the doorway, leaning against the doorjamb. Angel remained sitting on the couch, taking in his appearance. She noticed the bags under his eyes were little more heavier, his hair a little more grayer and his belly a little more bigger. But she didn't care. She loved him just the same. "Hey, Handsome," she said. "Hey."

Angel stood up as Bobby walked further into room. He pulled her into his arms and squeezed her as tightly as he could without suffocating her. Angel pulled back a little to look up at him. With fresh tears forming in her eyes, she said, "Thank you." "For what?" he asked as he wiped away a tear off her cheek with his thumb. "For coming home to me."
