The Unbroken Circle
The unbroken circle
of
the sky wheels above them
The unbroken circle
of the earth
turns beneath them
Each one watched
and traversed my two
sets of feet
One set encased in
A Lords boot
Well
made, expensive
and probably comfortable
The other set
A
peasant girls bare feet
Calloused, dirty
and probably used
to traveling many leagues
A study of opposites
A classic
example of yin and yang
Little to either one
of them
suspect
That one is perfect
for the other
The
Lord,
Brightly cold in his perfection
The girl,
warmly
wise in her short years
Externally, the Lord never changes or
ages
Internally, his heart warms and accepts the girl
Externally,
the girl, now a woman, changes drastically
Internally, she never
loses her warmth or love
And in the
unbroken circle of
life
They live, and love
And the girl dies, as all humans
do
In an unbroken circle
The sun and moon mark the
years
Counting down
To when
The Lord
will find
his eternal love
Under the unbroken circle
of the sky
On
the unbroken circle
of the earth
Where they will live, and
love
And she will never die again
As this time,
the Lord
ties himself
And his girl
together, forever
In an unbroken circle of Love
