Dear, Daddy

Hi remember me?

I'm your daughter Alison.

That night the sky was dreary,

And I was still your deary.

And we all sat gathered together,

Ignoring the weather.

But then why did you?

Scare mom like when a ghost goes "Boo"?

Said you were going to war,

And that your job was to soar.

Now mom started drinking,

And I began thinking,

How would we ever last?

If we cannot forgot the past?

Then Daddy, you never returned,

And I let all our memories burn.

Mommy got dressed in black,

And mom said she was as serious as a heart attack.

She never told me what had happened,

But all I know, is that our life is jagged.

Without you standing here with me,

I can find no sight to see.

So when your trying to get contact,

Do you think you'll ever come back?

Your said I'm your girl. You told me I could ALWAYS count on you. So daddy, come back. Stop making me wait so long. My father/daughter brunch is in three weeks. Will you be attending?

Love, Ali-girl "Sonny"

Dear Miss Monroe,

We have no Gerald Monroe on base anymore. He actually died a couple months ago. Did your mother ever tell you? If she did not, I'm very sorry to deliver this message.
